about friends

Freinds of Muraviovka Park was established in September of 1998 by teachers who had previously taught at summer camps sponsored by the International Crane Foundation. The group recognized the unique values of this place, and its ecosystem, for the world.

The Friends of Muraviovka Park offers a way to become involved and support this park from half way around the world. Our objectives are:

  • Sponsor and support volunteer services and environmental activities
  • Provide financial support
  • Promote international exchange and communication
  • From the day of its creation, volunteers have provided invaluable help to Muraviovka Park. They help develop our diverse programs and conduct activities in endangered species protection and organic farming;
    they lead workshops and summer camps, provide social help, participate in construction works and help equip the park’s headquarters, Nature center and library;
    produce and sell souvenirs and shirts as special fundraisers for the park’s programs. In 1998, these volunteers, established friends of Muraviovka Park (FOMP), which now unites over 200 supporters of the park in Russia, South Korea, United States, Japan, and European countries.
